research

I’m a postdoctoral fellow at the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics, in Bilbao, Spain. I’m also part of the Nquire group Quantum Computing and Architectures.
We are currently working on quantum metrology for rotational systems, among other things.
I’m interested in foundations and operational approaches to quantum information. I also like to keep an eye on attempts to “gravitise quantum mechanics”. Lately, I’m growing an interest in geometric aspects of the space of positive semidefinite linear operators, informationally complete POVMs, discrete and continuous quantum t-designs, and Bayesian quantum metrology.
Before coming to Bilbao, I was a postdoc at the Portuguese Quantum Institute. I hold a PhD from the University of Lisbon, and an MSc from The University of Nottingham, both in Physics.
